General Information on Donations

  • Donations in any currency eg. U.K. £, U.S.A.$ or Indian Rupees can be made with tax benefits to the donors.

  • Gwalior Children's Hospital is a small charity working to help and provide for poor, needy, underprivileged, vulnerable, destitute and disabled children in India of Gwalior and the Chambal region. We provide for these vulnerable people through Gwalior Hospital for Children and Women, the Gwalior Ophthalmic Centre, Gwalior General Hospital and Research Centre and Gwalior mobile hospital "A real hospital on Wheels" with its rural health centres and sub-centres.

  • Sunrise International School has been initiated as an integrated school for children with special needs with the aim to build an orphanage with centre for vocational training and rehabilitation for homeless and disabled children on streets. These facilities have been providing services for the last five years providing vital services to the people in Gwalior and Chambal region. 981 poor, needy, disabled children are being supported for their education and health care. We need £10000 per month for maintenance of ongoing services.

  • We also need £500K to build an orphanage with school and centre for vocational training and rehabilitation for disabled, homeless children on the streets aiming to make them independent. Your donation of £1000 once or £120 p.a. or £10 p.m. or equivalent in any currency will provide a new life to a disabled child on streets in India. We look for your full support and much needed help to carry on and complete this work. Just £10 per month will provide home, food, education and complete health care to a poor disabled child to make him/her independent and lead a life with self respect and esteem. £2 will provide for vaccination to three children. £5 provides for hospitalisation expenses for one day or books and toys for one child for a year. £10 provides maintenance for one child for whole month or it gives sight to a blind person. £120 provides for a child for whole year and £250 will provide for health care services through mobile hospital to 300 people in slums or villages for the day including health education, vaccinations, investigations, treatment and operations at site. You will have an opportunity to have a photograph and address of a child adopted on your behalf and you could correspond directly or even visit Gwalior as a volunteer working with us and meeting them in person at your own convenience.

  • All donations in the U.K., U.S.A and India are tax exempt with tax benefits to the donor as per existing rules in the country.

  • In the U.K. if you donate as gift aid either as a one off donation or by continuously by Direct debit or Standing order, this is worth an extra third to the charity and you can claim relief in your tax for the amount you pay (i.e. 18% equivalent to 23p for every pound you donate) in your self assessment return from the Inland Revenue, If you're a higher rate taxpayer.
